A DC Fantasy

Let me be your superman
I'll catch you when you fall
I'll be there when you call

Won't you be my Lois Lane?
For me to love from afar
For me to save from a burning car

I'll be your Clark Kent
A hero in disguise,
Behind only his glasses

You'll be my kryptonite
Two weaknesses in one
Less reason to run

Reckless Abandon

A heavy step,
Reflecting on the heart.
A deep breath,
To relieve some pain.
A single tear,
Betraying her mask.
A facial twitch,
To show his surprise.

He clenches his fists,
To stop himself from grabbing her wrists.
Wishing she'd take back the goodbye,
Not knowing she wants him to fight.
For her.
To stop her.

His mind yells stop.
His body stops.
He begins to mouth stop.
He shouts to her, 'stop'.

'Don't go.'
'Why shouldn't I?'
'How will I ever know?'
'Know what?'

'What will it be like, spending my life with you?
Sharing every moment with you?
I haven't got a clue,
What the future holds for us,
But this is something I must
Say;
Because you're running away,
I know exactly how much you mean to me.
So please don't leave.'

The Time is Significant Because It Is

Like a moth to the flame,
He walks into her embrace.
Nothing else existed in that space.
Sensing security radiate from her body,
He is reminded of something bawdy.
Here, there is no passion,
Nothing like a love connection.
Just a desire for physical contact,
To keep his sanity intact.
He has no reason to adore her,
Yet he feels attraction for her,
Like a moth to the flame.

A Neverending Trap

A righteous anger did engulf the crowd within,
A flaming desire, burning brighter than the sun.
Blinding the forces that do repel.
A strong hurricane, blowing a sand of change.
A tidal wave, to crash upon the shoulders of those who do evil.
A landslide of might, pushing back a façade.
All things eroding that veneer of perfection.
Such a pretentious face.

Heavy Hearted Cry

A chorus of voices,
Brought together by change,
Singing their hearts out,
Strengthened in a crowd.

Hopes for a day when,
All able will help,
But still they fight on,
Against all that is wrong.

Lending a grip
To those in need,
To those with a desire to live,
For a better future they believe.

A choir for the times,
Their message rings clear.
Let's start supporting them
In their quest to solve problems.

Four Seasons

January and February,
The summer sun beats down.
People head to the beach or out to sea,
There isn't a single frown.

March, April, May,
Autumn brings browning leaves.
People step on them for play,
Such joy this achieves.

June, July August,
Winter's wind cuts through.
People cuddle while they rest,
Enjoying the warmth and not wanting to move.

September, October, November,
Springtime is the best.
Plants begin to flower,
Giving smiles to even the saddest.

December,
The cycles begins anew.
Another burning hot summer,
Another surfer on the blue.

Brilliant White Light

A broken door that doesn't open,
A shattered window like how you left my heart,
All I wanted was some love,
But instead you just broke me apart.

I don't want to be here anymore,
This place is filled with pain,
And even though we have memories,
They're nothing but a stain.

Befriender

I would like to get to know you,
But I haven't got a single clue,
How to approach.

Your beauty makes me shy,
But I'm sure if I just try,
I could say 'hi'.

I can't help staring at your reflection,
Wishing we had a deep connection,
But sadly no.

The way you wear your hair,
Leaves me fighting for air,
You make me breathless.

Fusion

Just a quick note here,
But don't quote me;
I seem to keep thinking of a girl,
But I can't take myself seriously.

I don't know if I like her,
But she's certainly attractive;
She's smart and cute,
Not to mention her mind is creative.

As I am writing this up,
I find myself hoping that she remembers,
That small pinky promise we made,
That on Wednesday night I will take her to dinner.

In the Dead of the Night Part 2

The flames flicker,
As a breeze blows past,
Disturbing the shadows.

A bigger wind stirs,
People begin to shield,
For fear of losing their light.

They sit under the night sky,
Chatting up a storm,
To ease the tension.

The pilgrimage has only just begun,
Cold runs in the rows,
The moon shines ever brighter.

Wanderlust

How wondrous the idea,
Of sailing the seas.
How splendorous the thought,
Of caring for naught.

Wide and far would I go,
Just following the flow.
High and low would I climb,
Chasing after the sublime.

A scenery here,
For my mind to wander.
A mystery there,
For my eyes to ponder.

To be captivated,
By countries' histories.
To be enraptured,
By peoples' cultures.

Making the world my oyster,
Is no simple task.
First,
I must understand it.

Springtime

Laying awake with the sun in my eyes,
I do not rise out of bed.
For doing so means facing the world,
But it weighs me down like lead.

Thoughts tumble and thoughts fall,
Through my endless imagination.
Yet I am unable to voice a single one,
For doing so would require concentration.

Half dazed I crawl over the side,
In an attempt to overcome laziness.
A failure,
As my mind stays in haziness.

I muster the courage to stand,
And as I stretch everything whirls.
Everything hurts and I realise,
I am still unable to face the world.

Colour

Untruths colour this world,
Grey as it may seem.
People get called Black, White,
Yellow, Red and Brown.
People try to live black and white.
People survive on dull lives.
Their palettes run dry,
And the wit of it all,
It starts to cry.
Blue as the sky may seem,
Green as the grass grows,
No one appreciates the Red,
Of the lava.
No one likes to see,
A man on a rampage.
But calm and nerves,
These are human.
Eyes become blinded,
Ears become deaf,
To the dreams we aspire to,
To the lives we were meant to live.

We feel reality,
The hardest blow there is.

Lights

A hundred million miles or more,
Through a forest of thorns,
This lonely soul,
Has had to walk.

For a second of pleasure,
The moment's a blur,
Has into a memory burnt,
A lesson learnt.

Harken the call of the wind,
The air grins,
The cold pinch,
Fear being it's lunch.

Ding, Ding, Ding,
Hear the bells ring.
Dong, Dong, Dong,
You heard it wrong.

She

She's kind and loving,
Doesn't get angry for nothing.
She's sensitive and gentle,
Although her choices aren't always sensible.

She's got a strong heart,
Broken so many times you'd think it'd fall apart.
She's picked herself up everytime,
But I swear this wouldn't happen if she were mine.

She's got the prettiest eyes,
I wish I could stare into them for a while.
She's got the warmest embrace,
I just melt when I see her face.

She's got a smile that glows,
Some people think they know,
That she's an imperfect angel,
But that's not something you can tell.

To others she may not be the best,
But to me she is nothing like the rest.
She's just a beautiful mess,
That I want to hold and kiss.

Panic

Poem #21

In actuality,
No one bothers.
Unless you're straight forward,
No one bothers.

Dropping subtle hints,
Never works.
Hoping they get it,
Never works.

You have to fight for it,
Or you'll lose.
Don't try to quit,
Or you'll lose.

For the good times,,
You must persevere
To live,
You must persevere.

Lost Identity

Poem #20

Through all the nights and days,
Through all the wharfs and bays,
That we've sailed.

From the time we first met,
To that last moment we wept,
Feeling again.

Not judged by anyone,
But the most critical person,
Your own self.

Can't lose this chance,
Have to take a stance,
Who are you?

From Fighting to Waiting

Poem #19 [for 19/01/10, posted on the 07/02/10]:

Fighting for a grip on time,
Holding onto what's truly mine.
An age passes but it hardly registers,
More like a series of glitches.

Persevering through the seasons,
Waiting for a better reason,
To live and love,
To always have the courage to look up.

These are two types of people,
The actions they take when life isn't simple,
Rarely you will find someone who is both,
Because it's a like a warrior taking an eternal oath.

Look inside for what you are,
Begin with what you remember.
Follow through with your actions,
And you will start to know your true nature.

A Limerick

Poem #18 [for 18/01/10, posted on the 03/02/10]:

I stepped towards the bar,
To the girl I spotted from afar.
Said to her: "You, me, my place"
Then she slapped me in the face,
And proceeded outside to her car.
